Locanda Cortesa

The Locanda Cortesa's wines

Excellent full-bodied wines, with a lively and fragrant bouquet, are one of the end-products of the favourable conditions in this hilly area.
Barbera, Croatina and Bonarda vines form the red wine species regulating the production of San Colombano DOC.
The delicate white wines produced are called Verdea, Pinot bianco, Chardonnay and Riesling.

La “Cortesa” also has its own long rows of vineyards on the surrounding hills, growing and thriving in the company of a number of fruit-bearing trees, such as cherry, prune, fig, mulberry, chestnut, hazelnut and walnut.
The abundant water in the Spa area, with rare essences taken from oak and briar, makes the vegetation particularly luxuriant and the Cortesa Park an ideal habitat for fauna. A colony of red woodpeckers have chosen to live on the most ancient cherry-trees in a woody area at the edge of the vineyards.
In their honour, fresh and fruity house wines are called “Picchio rosso” (red woodpecker) and “Picchio bianco” (white woodpecker), professionally and lovingly produced in loco.

The “Locanda Cortesa” cellar also offers guests a wide selection of top quality wines Italy's most famous vineyards .
International labels and a selection of specially bottled wines are also available.
We prepare savoury dishes of salami and local cheeses to taste with our wines in the cellar.
